Summer reading, You can either be assigned a good book to read that you enjoy. Or a book that is so boring that every page turn is excruciatingly painful and you want nothing to do with that book. I know at least someone has been there at least once. But that is nt the case with Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. Yes I know this year we did have an option for the book we read and there were probably some boring titles in the list (meaning Books I wouldn't choose to read but other people may choose some of them and enjoy the books). But anyway Throne Of Glass, This book is AMAZING. Almost everything about it was well done in this book. But for the sake of this post I will highlight option B. "Analyze how complex characters develop over the courses of the story and how they interact with other characters , and advance the plot or develop the theme". For this post I will analyze main character Celaena Sardothien. In the book at the beginning she is portrayed as a ruthless heartless assassin that is locked away in a mine as a slave. As the book progresses we see that there is more to her than that. We get to see her develop as a person and what she is feeling throughout the book.
First with her interactions with other characters. Very early on we are introduced to the 2 of the other major characters in the book . The Captain of the Guard Chaol Westfall, and the Crown Prince of Adarlan Dorian Havillard. Later in the book another character is introduced Princess Nehemia Ytger. Her interactions with the most of the characters is a negative one mostly because she dosen't trust any of them.
Second How the complex character helps devolve the plot. In this boo the character Celaena helps develop the plot because the book is a window into her life. The book is told in a way that you know what she's feeling and thaw with an already well developed plot line makes for a great and enjoyable story.
